Second voluntary weekend for junior museum railway fans took place in the end of April. At this time ten boys from seven to fifteen years of age enjoyed a weekend full of railroading, eating and light voluntary work tasks. Although weather was rather cold, everyone seemed to be happy with many new friends.

Saturday program included a diesel locomotive hauled work train from Minkiö to Humppila. Train stopped with Vuorela, Palomäki and Kermala halts and the anxious group of boys cleaned up the railroad crossings and platforms. In Humppila a gas-fired camp kitchen was set up in the firewood shelter and precooked sausage soup was boiled up in the matter of minutes.

In Humppila boys had also an opportunity to pop in the rolling stock shelter with many future renovation projects for next museum railway volunteer generations. Also some passenger carriages were picked up with work train for spring maintenance in Minkiö. During the return journey the bigger boys also managed to try controlling of TU4 diesel locomotive. The highlight of return journey was in Palomäki, when train stopped with new barbecue place and fire was set up for making pancakes in the open fire!

Program for Saturday continued in Minkiö with riding handcars and sausage barbecue with Minkiö old sauna. Sunday program includes helping other volunteers to put Minkiö station garden in summer condition.
