During the past few weeks the Jokiranta trackwork has been going fast forward. The cleared and semi ballasted track bed is reaching now the fence of the Syrup Factory. The rails on the old track bed have been removed and all old tree roots and grass digged out. The track bed has been leveled and prepared for track laying.

The next phase of the project will be taking the rails and railway slepers from Humppila to Jokioinen. If the winter does not come too early this year the aim is also to nail the track all the way to the Syrup Factory. After the track is complete there is still some work with ballasting and collecting the old rails away. The old 22 kg/m rails will be used on side spurs of the railway.
